Job description:
Our client, a major software provider leader in delivering comprehensive solutions to the mining and geoscience industry, is looking for a Director, Business Strategy & Development.  Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will:

  • Analyze geoscience/geosphere market trends and competition in order to further develop and optimize software solutions for existing and new clients.
  • Identify and analyse areas of weakness. Lead efforts to update the company business plan accordingly.
  • Work with large clients in order to identify requirements and market expectations.
  • Provide guidance on strategy; Develop, execute, and monitor the strategic plan ensuring future growth and competitiveness.
  • Work along with the Merger & Acquisition department to identify possible business acquisitions and partners.
  • Engage strategic discussions with potential partners.
  • Ensure thorough market development to enable incremental sales.


  • Minimum 15 years of experience including 10 years in the software industry in product management, business development, strategic planning, or equivalent role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences combined with business experience or education
  • Strong understanding of the geoscience/geosphere market
  • Demonstrate strong strategic thinking skills
  • Team player able to work with cross-functional teams
  • Project Management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at the technical and executive level
  • French an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Office work environment
  • Frequent travel: 30 to 50% of time
